Aspiring to Zero Waste in the Liverpool City Region
Why Zero Waste?
To help achieve a zero waste Liverpool City Region, where we make the most efficient use of resources by reducing our demand on them, and maximising reuse, recycling and recovery of resources instead of treating them as waste.
We’ve set ourselves a big challenge to reduce waste and to support the wider aim of a net zero carbon Liverpool City Region by 2040. To achieve this we need a road map to chart our journey and get us to our Zero Waste 2040 destination.
The Merseyside Recycling & Waste Authority Community Fund is all about investing in great projects that will benefit communities across the Liverpool City Region, and which have the potential to reuse, upcycle and prevent waste, save money and avoid landfill.
